Workforce scheduling does not have to be complex

Workforce-schduling

Today’s workforce is multi-faceted; shift-based work, contract workforce, gig economy etc. You get my gist.

From the employer’s perspective, planning a workforce schedule is critical to the management of labour costs, productivity and ensuring employee compliance. But as we all know, there are always two sides to the equation. The employee’s perspective must also be considered. This, adds an additional layer of complexity. Employees are focused on sustaining a suitable work-life balance, whilst also prioritising their employee experience.

Managers struggle to find the balance of what organisations require and what employees expect.

I see a big part of the solution in the adoption of workforce scheduling software. The ability to analytically record employee shift preferences that can optimise future staffing allocations helps alleviate management challenges. It can also work in the favour of employees, by cutting out the typical back-and-forth communication with employers regarding work hours.

How is the workforce scheduling process in your organisation? Is it streamlined? Or is it the root cause of headaches? Have you considered adopting wfm scheduling software?
